“Last year, I moved back to the bay area. I was renting a room from a friend, but it wasn’t a good situation for me to be in. There were problems with family dynamics, and their uncle was starting to show signs of dementia, so it wasn’t a safe place to remain. It was a hostile environment, but it was all I could afford in this area. I’m trying to rebuild and keep working where I am.
I am a case manager for seniors that were previously homeless. I LOVE my job.
I have definitely had a rough few years, but I am here now getting back on my feet doing what I love: helping others, with even more empathy because I’ve been there and now is my opportunity to pay it forward.”
