After transitioning out of the military, Jung faced ongoing challenges with PTSD and depression. During a difficult and uncertain time, Jung felt alone and overwhelmed. A referral from MidPen Housing connected Jung with HIF’s Emergency Housing Fund, providing critical financial assistance and a sense of security when it was needed most.
The Emergency Housing Fund grant helped with Jung’s rent payment, preventing the possibility of returning to a shelter and providing the stability needed to move forward.
The grant also helped Jung keep a beloved cat who has become an important source of emotional support and companionship. “During difficult times, having that constant comfort has made a tremendous difference in my life.”
For Jung, the assistance provided more than help with rent – it offered breathing room during an especially challenging time. “This grant I received helped me reduce the overwhelming stress I was feeling with my transition out of homelessness.”
“Thank you for believing in me and for giving me the opportunity to continue rebuilding my life. Your compassion and generosity have made a lasting impact, and I will always be grateful.”
