My wife and I have been living in the Bay Area since I got out of the Marine Corps at the end of 2017. Since then, we have been living with family in the parsonage of the church my father is a pastor at. He and my mother are looking to move soon, and my wife and I will no longer be able to continue to live at our current address. As nonprofit professionals, we believe it to be vital to live in the county that we serve. Working with survivors of domestic violence in San Mateo county, and children who have experienced trauma, remaining in this community allows us to be more familiar with the resources and services we provide daily. Living in the county would also allow us to dedicate less time to commuting and more time either engaging in work or with our family. We want to participate in the program because we both enjoy what we do in social services and want to be able to continue to live in the area of the community of which we serve.
