HIF and Unity Care celebrate reopening of renovated So San Francisco foster youth home

SAN MATEO, CALIF. (August 9, 2018) – Housing Industry Foundation (HIF) announced the completion of its 107th community-based renovation project, benefiting Unity Care’s home for foster youth in South San Francisco. This home marks HIF’s seventh renovation project with Unity Care, and its second project together this year.

“Our homes provide a secure foundation for youth and families to build upon in order to create a productive life. Working with HIF to renovate our homes allows us to ensure we’re providing the safe, secure and positive environments our families need and deserve, and we’re grateful for our ongoing partnership with them,” said Andre’ Chapman, Unity Care CEO and Founder.

HIF has supported Unity Care’s mission to provide safe, secure and positive living environments for foster youths and underserved families since 2012. HIF worked with industry partners to donate labor and materials for renovation of the kitchen, living and dining rooms, in addition to replacement of flooring, furniture, doors, interior paint, and a new garden for the clients they support.

Partners for this project include HIF corporate champion AvalonBay, lead contractor International Business Investment, Inc. (IBI), CORT Furniture, Daltile, Daniel Gaines Photography, Golden State Lumber, Kelly Moore Paints, Medallion Landscape, Pacific Home Décor, Pro-Floors and Varsity Painting.

“Through the Renovation Program we provide our generous partners an opportunity to give back to the community, and cover the cost of renovations to allow organizations like Unity Care to focus its resources on its clients to give their clients a better quality of life,” said HIF Executive Director Robert Freiri.

A ribbon cutting to celebrate the renovated home’s opening will be held on August 16, 2018 at 3 p.m. Parties interested in attending the ceremony may contact steve@hifinfo.org.
