Dan Whelan

Dan Whelan works on the Acquisitions & Development team at Presidio Bay Ventures, where he identifies and evaluates new investment opportunities and guides projects through every stage of development. With experience spanning real estate brokerage, finance, construction, and development, he brings a well-rounded, solutions-oriented perspective to his work.

Before joining Presidio Bay, Dan served as a Senior Investment Analyst at Northmarq, where he structured more than $750 million in debt and equity across major property types, and held a range of part-time roles at Greystar, Prometheus Real Estate Group, and Marcus & Millichap.

A third-generation Bay Area native, Dan is passionate about shaping the region’s future through thoughtful, community-focused development. He also founded the Building Leaders Initiative, a nonprofit supporting the Housing Industry Foundation’s homelessness prevention programs, and an active member of ULI and NAIOP.

Dan holds a Master of Real Estate Development + Design (MRED+D) from UC Berkeley and a B.S. in Finance from Santa Clara University. Outside of work, he enjoys surfing, scuba diving, woodworking, and hiking.
