Thank you for making our 2022 Summit a huge success!

On September 8, 2022, 720 guests from 163 companies in the multifamily housing industry came together face-to-face for the first time in three years to celebrate HIF’s work and fundraise for our housing and renovation programs!

Thanks to our HIF network and guests, we raised over $845,000! Our 70 amazing sponsors helped us raise $470,000 in sponsorships and ticket sales alone. The Fund-a-Need raised $323,000 and was a stellar success thanks to Windy Hill Property Ventures’ $150,000 matching grant. The auction and raffle raised another $41,000, thanks to both the in-kind donors and the winners.

Four individuals were honored for giving so much to our community and to HIF

2022 Summit Industry Award
John Millham, Prometheus Real Estate Group

John was recognized as a leader in the multifamily housing space who positively impacted the industry and the community, and exemplifies the mission and spirit of HIF. His commitment to our mission has been transformative for us and the families we serve each year. Both his success in the industry as President at Prometheus and his enduring support of our mission come from a very deep well of positive energy and a commitment to giving back.

2022 Summit Community Service Award
Andrea Urton, CEO, HomeFirst

Andrea was celebrated for her unique contributions as a community leader who makes an exceptional difference for those in need of services, support, and safe and stable housing. She’s spent her career providing the highest quality, innovative, and culturally competent services for individuals and families in Santa Clara County’s highest-risk communities. She possesses a remarkable collaborative spirit, tremendous depth of knowledge, and unique solutions to help our most vulnerable community members. Andrea inspired our Summit guests by sharing her personal story that helps inform and fuel her leadership at HomeFirst.

2022 Volunteer Award
Rod Edwards, President & CEO, IBI, Inc.

Rod was recognized as someone who has gone above and beyond for HIF for years. He’s been on our Board for over 10 years and serves on our Executive Committee and Renovations Committee. Rod has been a true champion of our Renovation Program and in particular, these last four years, he ensured that HIF continued to make an impact for shelters during very challenging times. He sets a high bar of excellence for the quality of our projects and for what it means to be an engaged Board member and volunteer—investing his time and resources and inspiring his generous team at IBI, Inc. to follow his example.

Danny was also recognized as someone who consistently goes well above and beyond to volunteer for HIF. For over 10 years, Danny Gaines’ photographs captured the beauty, strength, hope, and spirit of the individuals and families who we serve. He has a unique ability to put everyone at ease in front of the camera, so we can see our clients for who they really are beyond stats and demographics. Time and time again he captures their essence—real people who are our neighbors, community workers, friends, and families…our communities. He generously gives HIF his time and talent, pro bono, with passion and creativity.

We featured two Affordable Housing Initiative clients this year

Lisa and Mary work in the San Jose School district and every day they give so much to their students and communities. Now, they have AHI apartments that keep them close to their schools and woven into their communities while gaining financial stability and peace of mind.
