What's New
With the generous help from local housing leaders, the Housing Industry Foundation (HIF) recently finished remodeling CityTeam Ministries' House of Grace, a transitional home for women in recovery suffering from addiction, abuse, abandonment, crisis pregnancy, and homelessness. CityTeam Ministries also operates a disaster response team specializing in long-term recovery in the aftermath of disasters.
HIF and House of Grace would like to thank the following companies and individuals who provided dollars, labor, and/or materials to complete the seven bathroom renovation projects which totaled $18,000; without their support this project would have cost over $50,000.
- Carl Overmier, Sean Overmier, and CJS Plumbing
- David Lee, Vince Raciti and Regency General Contractors
- Fred Kriebel and Kriebel & Associates
- Jeffrey Draeger, Don Ortega, and Draeger Construction
- Jesse Lacroix, Jenessa Lee and Ferguson
- Mario Diaz and Wells Fargo Foundation
- Mike Carithers, Tim Stokes, Duff Broeker, Robbie Cowan and Richard Avelar & Associates

In addition to the House of Grace renovation project, during the last two months, HIF granted emergency housing aid to nearly 50 families, totaling over $41,000.
HIF Crew One family that recently received $1,000 grant was an elderly married couple. Two years ago, the husband was diagnosed with advanced prostate cancer and was recently put on chemotherapy. He was also placed on a special diet that has increased the couple's food expense significantly. The additional medical, food, and transportation costs have strained their limited income from social security and the couple fell behind on two months' rent. HIF was able to help with the rent costs and a caseworker is helping the couple find alternative sources of food which will help them in the future.
