What we do
As an organization, our greatest strength lies in our ability to leverage our board’s contacts and business expertise and collaborate with partner agencies to minimize costs and maximize output to the community. The programs we have established are unique, and do not exist within our network of partner organizations; a donation to HIF allows nearly immediate relief to those facing a severe housing crisis.
HIF follows two basic guidelines in developing our programs: (1) We maximize our capabilities by leveraging donations of material and labor on top of cash donations; and (2) We build upon existing specialized efforts in the community rather than duplicate them. As a result, all HIF activities are done in cooperation with local individuals, businesses and community-based organizations.
We partner with other non-profits who provide the casework for our emergency housing grants. Likewise we call upon multi-family industry supporters for our shelter/housing renovation projects with donations of material, labor and expertise. Additionally, HIF is part of a network of local organizations designed to provide secondary response in case of natural disaster.
